LIBRARY SUMMER HOURS
Sundays 8:30am – 12:15pm
Wednesdays 9am – 2pm
The library has one room devoted to theology and devotional books. There are many sets of commentaries, hundreds of devotional and Christian growth books and a section on church history.
The Christian fiction is excellent with all the best selling Christian authors and an extensive selection of series books by authors like Dee Henderson, Karen Kingsbury, Jan Karon, and Angela Hunt. We have many English mysteries and suspense novels by writers like Ted Dekker and T. Davis Bunn. Get a dose of humor from Phillip Gulley and Barbara Johnson.
BOOKS FOR YOUNG READERS:
In addition to research books for young readers, there are hundreds of “easy reader” and “chapter books.” All of the books which are on the Accelerated Readers’ list of Van Story, Max Abbott, and Ashley are labeled with colored discs for easy access. The books which are in the Snyder library for Accelerated Reader lists from other schools are available at the checkout desk. In addition to hundreds of fun books, there are books for preschoolers which deal with subjects like getting along with friends, honesty, death, divorce and other life lessons.
BOOKS ON CD:
The new way to “read” is to listen while you ride or work! As in the printed word, Snyder has a wide variety of CD’s that extend from the Bible to Agatha Christie to Jannete Oke to piano music by Snyder’s church pianist, Joy Cogswell.
Old John Wayne movies, Disney classics, McGee and Me, Veggie Tales, musicals, Thomas the Train, Barney, the Best of Bob Hope, dramatized Bible stories, Gary Smalley marriage enrichment videos, travelogues, and many others.
