More than just a curious story, Mother Goose games like “Peek-A-Boo” help babies understand language.  In this special camp, uncover more ways to say “I love you” using American Sign Language, soap bubbles, and parent-baby dances.  Plus, parents can meet with other newborns and families in the community and learn how music improves the child development process.

Home Materials include:  Peek-A-Boo, I Love You! board book,  Home CD, duck wash mitt, baby duck Gertie ball, and poster.

Give children something to sing about in their own backyards.  Be the flower from the “seed’s” perspective.  Run and jump in rain puddles made from hula hoops.   Be a baby bird hatching from its egg and learning to fly into a new world.  Shoo flies and sing “Shoo Fly.”

Home Materials include:  Home CD, Lady Bug, and Shaker Scarf.

• Integrates physical cognitive, social and emotional learning domains for a whole-child approach to learning.
  
  
• Uses a multi-sensory approach to teach early music concepts such as loud and quiet, high and low, or fast and slow.

• Invites children to explore the joy of group learning, practicing social skills such as turn-taking and cooperation.
  
  
• Prepares children to practice the listening and attention skills that ensure early school success.

• Introduces composers, songs and styles from a variety of genres, such as classical, jazz and folk.
  
  
• Builds a sturdy foundation for music education by introducing children to music vocabulary, pre-music reading and more complex such as largo/presto and legato/staccato.

• Provides fun, guided, ensemble-style opportunities for vocal exploration, movement, and instrument play.
  
  
• Offers a primer for early keyboard skills.

Music therapy services at Snyder Music Academy are provided by a Board Certified Music Therapist, who has completed at least an undergraduate degree in music therapy at an accredited school as well as a specialized 6 month internship in a specific field. 

Upon registration for music therapy services, an individual assessment with the music therapist will be scheduled at a time agreed upon by the therapist and the caregiver.  During this time, the therapist will ask questions and have the client perform specific tasks so that individual needs and goals can be established. He/she will suggest a proper placement in one of the following groups that will meet the client’s needs and schedule.

Dance

Intermediate Dance - This class will focus on proper body alignment musicality, and an extension of the basic tap and ballet movements, as well as linking steps together into choreography.  For students who have had at least one year of dance instruction.    

Baby Dance- A toddler/parent class that focuses on musicality and movement.  Basic ballet positions and tap steps are taught.

Toddler Dance- A class for toddlers that focuses on musicality and movement.  Basic ballet positions and tap steps are taught. 

Beginner Dance- A class for the student who has never been in a dance class or has very basic skills.  This class will work on the fundamentals of dance such as body positioning, musicality, and basic movements in ballet and tap.

Mom’s Ballet with Baby - This class will focus on helping mom achieve that “ballet body” while improving circulation, flexibility, and coordination while building up strength.  We will be wearing our babies in carriers (such as a sling, wrap, or other carrier) and will use the weight of the baby to improve muscle tone and strength.  Baby will also benefit from this class by getting e3xposed to classical music and closeness with mom.
