Programs - ABC Music and Me 2013 |

All About ABC"s
The ABC Music and Me program is offered in monthly units with weekly. Each lesson emphasizes a different area of your child's development: confidence, coordination, vocal expressiveness, careful listening, and early exposure to reading skills. You will see your child develop the social skills, listening skills, and learning skills necessary for early school success.
How Can Music Prepare My Child for School?
During preschool years, children learn to "tune out" much of the visual, auditory, and physical stimuli they encounter. Positive experiences with music teach children to "tune in" practicing focused attention and discrimination sounds.
Why is Music Such A Great Teaching Tool?
Music stimulates the brain, forcing neural pathways in all domains of learning; cognitive, emotional, social, and physical. You childs entire brain is involved when he or she participates in music and movement activities.
Continue the Learning At Home!
Each child enrolled in ABC Music & Me will receive: 3 Home Kits per semester containing full color Family Guides, a Home CD, and some kits include an instrument.
The Family Guide includes Parent Notes that highlight the skills your child is developing in class, activities to do together at home, and a story to share with the entire family.
The Home CD includes over 20 songs, rhymes, and stories from the class, and connects you musically to the activities your child has been enjoying.
The Instructors
Kerri Hurley and Laura Thompson.
Student Enrollment
Classes are for children enrolled in the following Childcare Centers: Snyder Memorial Baptist Church, First Adventures (Cape Fear Valley Health Care Systems), FTCC Childcare and Highland Learning Center.
