Kyle Matthews, in almost two
decades of writing
and performing
his songs,
Kyle Matthews
has emerged as
one of Christian
music’s most
prolific songwriters.
Of his 60 cuts
by major artists of
disparate genres,
he has penned
such well known
songs as “If You Want Me To” (Ginny Owens),“Everything and Nothing” (Vince Gill), “One and the Same” (Cece Winans), “God
Forbid” (Point of Grace) and “Been Thru the

thE TWO TENORS
February 14, 2010
6:30pm
A Concert in Black Tie and Blue Jeans
What if you had two singers with different backgrounds and styles, one traditional and and one not-so-traditional, performing a sacred concert together? The Two Tenors concert proves that both styles of worship can co-exist and can still tell the Christian message regardless of the musical style.
An American trained artist, tenor Barry Craft has earned the reputation as one of the most sought-after singers of the current generation. His lyric tenor is especially suited to the very high tessitura found in the Bel Canto operas of Bellini, Donizetti, and in symphonic works such as Orff ’s Carmina Burana.
Ben Owens is an extremely versatile artist. He has a beautiful voice suited to both contemporary and traditional singing styles. An accomplished guitarist, he teaches guitar at the Lake Cities Music Studio and composes his own songs. Ben is also an accomplished pianist. |

SPRING CONCERT: ELIJAH
May 2, 2010 at 6:30pm
Oratorio Elijah is considered the greatest work of Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy (1809- 1847), German composer of the Romantic era, born Hamburg, Germany. Elijah by Mendelssohn is a dramatic story of the prophet Elijah as he summons the people to righteousness, performs miracles, and struggles against idol-worshipping. He confronts the wicked queen Jezebel. It ends as Elijah rises to heaven in a fiery chariot. The Oratorio, written in two parts, was first performed in August of 1846. The Elijah production combines resources of Snyder’s Sanctuary Choir and Orchestra with the Campbell University Choral Society and the University Choir. Choral Society personnel include students, faculty, and a core of community singers. The University Choir is comprised of students, most of who are majoring or minoring in music. Both groups are under the direction of Dr. Phillip Morrow, Director of Choral Activities at the University. Snyder’s Choir and Orchestra are under the direction of Dr. Larry Dickens, Minister of Music and Adjunct Instructor of Church Music at Campbell Divinity School. |

randalL atcheson
April 25, 2010
6:30pm
Randall Atcheson, is the epitome of a musical renaissance man. His gift of communicating the beauty of music in various forms has led to a decidedly versatile career as a much-sought-after artist in the classics as well as in pop and the sacred repertoire. Atcheson became the only student in the history of The Julliard School ever allowed to pursue, and receive, simultaneous degrees in piano and organ performance.
His heavy concert schedule has taken him to five continents. Atcheson has performed at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris and Blenheim Palace, England, and has made much-acclaimed piano deuts in Sydney, Australia; Jerusalem, Israel; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; and Paris, France. Recently he has performed abroad in El Salvador, France, Germany, Italy and his ninth solo concert at Carnegie Hall.
He and his wife Laurie live in Greenwich, Connecticut. |
