Children’s Choirs are wonderful opportunities for training in technical musicianship as well as learning to be worship leaders. Performance is not our primary goal, as we are focusing on learning to experience music and worship. As a child’s age increases, more opportunity will be available for singing as worship leaders. When we do sing in worship, we ask you to help us teach our children what worship is about by stressing the worship and leadership aspect as opposed to performance

Our Desire

Worship and Performance Opportunities
Music Time (4’s & 5’s)& Music Makers (1st-3rd Grade) will have several opportunities to sing in worship as well as mission opportunities throughout the year.
Young Musicians (4th-6th Grade) will sing in worship and the Singing Christmas Tree. Children are expected to attend a least 70% of rehearsals (8 out of 11 rehearsals), September 7-November 16 to participate in the singing Christmas Tree.

The Big Picture Memory Verses & Hymns
A hymn/chorus and scripture verse will be featured each month in Children’s Choirs. Hymns are a vital part of our Christian heritage, and instill within us praise, doctrine, commitment and hope. Scripture memorization will encourage children to have a desire for God’s Word, know God’s Grace, and to build a life with Jesus.
Each has been designated by age. We encourage you to track your child’s memorization in God’s Word as a family and to find the blessing of memorizing together!
Your child may sing or recite to a choir leader at any time during the choir year.
