2008 Mission Trips Ready To Go…

Middle Eastern Country
May 19-27
Need 3 or 4 women for Women’s Conference. Our women will pray for the conference, minister to the women who attend, and provide a craft time for the women. This trip is a partnership with Global Women. Women from other churches may go as well.
Cost: $1500 approximately
Deposit: $200 deposit due by April 13

New Orleans, LA
June 15-21
Partnering with Rebuilding Together to rebuild homes destroyed during hurricane Katrina. The volunteer housing facility in NOLA is called Camp Hope. Volunteer housing facilities typically have bunk beds, hot showers, bathrooms, and a large kitchen. Volunteers are asked to bring their own linens and towels. Meals will be provided by the volunteer housing facility. Volunteer groups may bring tools to the work with if they prefer, but each Gulf Coast affiliate has tools available on-site. Skilled volunteers should be advised that work scopes vary from house to house in the Gulf. Typically, a work week will include houses in different phases of rebuilding. Wick Smith will serve as leader for the trip. You must be 18 years of age to work on this job site.

Kenya
June 27-July 10
(Tentative until flights are arranged)
Approximately 10 participants needed to work with Hope Missions International in the Mathare Slum area where our church members are sponsoring about 40 children. This trip will consist of light construction, opportunity to rebuild a slum house, VBS, hospice care for HIV patients, and opportunities for medical clinics. Must be 18 or a parent must go with you.
Cost: $2000
Deposit: $200 per person is due by April 13

Miami, FL
June 28-July 5
Working with Touching Miami with Love. In need of 25 participants to work with inner-city children doing day camp and field trips. Will also work with homeless. Sara McDonald will serve as leader for this trip.
Cost: $200 (church is paying $50 per person) which pays for meals and lodging for the week.
Deposit: $25 is due by April 27

Ukraine
July 10-20
Need 10-12 people to work with the Romany people. This trip is in partnership with Baptist Men and will include construction in transforming an old KGB spy building into a worship facility for the Romany people. A VBS will also be conducted. You must be 16-years old to go.
Cost: $1350 per person.
Deposit: $200 is due by April 27

Guatemala
September 28 to October 4
This trip is in partnership with Buckner International and participants will be part of a larger group from Buckner. The trip will include a 1 day VBS program at different orphanages and giving out shoes to the orphans. A shoe drive will be conducted in conjunction with this trip. Buckner International will lead this trip. Must complete an application with Buckner.
Cost is approximately $1800.
